The war drums beat, resonating in all directions; heroes gather, each showcasing their prowess.
The “Frhythms Cup 3” is a key biennial platform for drummers to perform and exchange, organized by the Jue Zou Gan Percussion Ensemble. It aims for drummers to present the skills they’ve acquired over the years on this artistic competition platform and enjoy the artistic feast of the moment.
“Jue” aligns with the founding mission of our ensemble, encouraging the drummers who participate in the 24 Festive Drums to open up their sensory systems and enjoy their surroundings and current environment with greater acuity.
“Yun” refers to rhythm and can be interpreted as “win,” emphasizing the stress relief attained through the musical training of the 24 Festive Drums, thereby achieving a balanced state between work and rest during their learning process.
This year’s Frhythms Cup will feature a new division format for the competition, which includes:
📍The [Classic Group], focusing on traditional styles;
📍The [Innovation Group], incorporating elements beyond the festive drums；
📍The [High School and University Group].

✨ The annual grand event of Frhythms – Frhythms Cup 2022 has officially begun!
Drummers from various festive drum groups are engaging in offline performances and activities, showcasing a hundred flowers in bloom!
🥁 Following the 2020 inaugural event of the – Frhythms Cup Online Solo Competition, this year we are eager to host an in-person drumming exhibition competition.
🥁 At that time, more than ten primary and secondary school drum teams will compete on the same stage for the highest honor.
In 2022, our ensemble’s performances across the West Malaysian Peninsula continue, and the educational journey of festive drums remains steadfast, successfully bringing together 15 primary and secondary school drum teams to compete on the same stage for the highest honor. ✨
On December 17th, it will be grandly launched at the Dewan SJK(C) Connaught 2, SJKC Connaught 2, Selangor. 🌍

The resonance of Jue Zou reverberates as the drum rhythms resound through the sky!
The inaugural Frhythms Cup 24 Festive Drums Solo Competition for young drummers will commence from October 10 to December 12, 2020.
To comply with our country’s pandemic prevention measures and participant number control, this competition will be held online and will only be open to students taught by our ensemble.
“Jue Yun” signifies the awakening of each person’s sense of musical rhythm; clothing is a symbol of civilization, a key marker of humanity’s stride into a civilized society. The commemorative shirt designed by the Jue Zou Gan Percussion Ensemble combines both concepts, aiming to convey the “Jue Yun” spirit promoted by the competition to the general public through clothing as a cultural symbol. This effort seeks to attract more young children to participate and nurture a new generation of musical talents.
